Alaska has no county jails, so people arrested on Prince of Wales Island or in Hyder may be held briefly by local police or Alaska State Troopers and then moved to Ketchikan Correctional Center in Ketchikan, which is operated by the Alaska Department of Corrections. Call the facility with the person's full name and date of birth to confirm custody. Use Alaska DOC resources for people sentenced to state prison.
Visitation
Ketchikan Correctional Center follows Alaska DOC visitation rules, which usually require advance approval and valid photo ID. Call the facility or check the Alaska DOC website for the current schedule and rules.
Bail and bond
A judge or magistrate of the Alaska Court System sets bail, usually at the first appearance. Contact the court or the facility for the bail amount and the accepted payment methods.
